Lesson Plan Supplemental Materials

This lesson was designed for my first graders. In this lesson plan I will be integrating mathematics into the students literacy to develop an understanding of where math fits into their world. I would specicically be focusing on two to three dimension shapes and how they are related to our everyday lifes. On day one we will read "The Greedy Triangle" where the students will be able to ask questions. I will have print outs of two-three dimension shapes as well as regular for the students to recognize the difference between the shapes. We will also have a group of students on the computer visiting Sammy Shapes website where Sammy the snake makes shapes with his body and the kids name it. I will have the students identify the shapes in their environment.

Here is the site.http://www.primarygames.com/storybooks/sammy/start.htm
We will include this site into our lesson as a part of the pre-essesment activities to see what the student knows.
